WoW rules for life

A good read.

Gathering some lessons learned in the popular online game World of Warcraft and then applying them to real life.

College Riot

A laugh riot that is. Awesome pic of a paper a student in some high level mech class got back after grading.

I wish some of my teachers had such a sense of humor

Straight from the Heart

I'm not really a subscriber of the whole Valentine thingie... it's just not a part of who I am.

But I will use this occasion to wax poetic abt some awesome quotes related to today's theme. I'm tired of the day already with tons of people wishing me Happy Valentines... I mean I've been hearing it since I was driving home at 5 in the morning from work.
Some people were starting their days, I was ending mine. It was just not the time.

Thanks qoTd once again.

True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked.
- Erich Segal

Story writers say that love is concerned only with young people, and the excitement and glamour of romance end at the altar. How blind they are. The best romance is inside marriage; the finest love stories come after the wedding, not before.
- Irving Stone

Real love is a pilgrimage. It happens when there is no strategy, but it is very rare because most people are strategists.
- Anita Brookner

Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.
- Elinor Glyn, 1864 - 1943

Headstrong

Whoa, crazy weekend. First off, sat morning I answered a call on my cell phone around 8 in the morning - to do this I moved to the far end of my bed and went back to sleep there.

In a couple of mins, there was a loud crash and I looked to my left and lo and behold, my ceiling fan had come crashing down next to me. If not for that phone call, one of the blades would certainly have struck me.

To quote Ross from Friends, "I have a new-found zest for life."

The Time Traveller

Just read an awesome short tale from the master of combining religion + sci-fi elements - Arthur C. Clarke.

It's called The Nine Billion Names of God

I want to read all of his books now. Anyway, in the meantime here are quotes uttered by him:

The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

It may be that the old astrologers had the truth exactly reversed, when they believed that the stars controlled the destinies of men. The time may come when men control the destinies of stars.

There is hopeful symbolism in the fact that flags do not wave in a vacuum.
